How long this one takes.

Build class is about time and piece count, not difficulty. Every kit uses the same techniques and the same instruction style. A Chief kit is not harder than a Firefighter kit, it is just a longer evening.

About the real apparatus

The rig behind the model.

This 1-1 model is a Lego recreation of San Diego Fire and Rescues, 2016/17's Rear Mount Aerial. This build has 3 decal packs for Truck 11, 21 and 40. The only thing not accurate is the cab interior, so it has been replaced with SD's Engine interior. For simplicity, we will be taking a look at Truck 21 in these images. All 3 are stationed in Golden Hill, Pacific Beach and Rancho Peñasquitos.

Furnished with a full interior, this rig comes with a full sticker pack along with purchase to detail the exterior of the truck. This truck has bunker gear, traffic vests, chainsaws and rotary saws, a hidden frog, multiple generators, traffic cones, and a fire extinguisher among many more things. Also included inside is the 4 outrigger plates you can swap out with. Equipped with a 105' foot ladder, it can turn all 360 degrees, and can extend twice its length if you rearrange the inner ladder column. The end of the inner column has a water monitor to spray on fires from above. On the rear it also has a optional American flag that's clipped on.

These trucks have been slowly retired in favor of the tillers, which I will build after this. But these ones are currently still in service as of this post!
