About the real apparatus
The rig behind the model.
This is my recreation of Washington Department of Natural Resource's, 2024 Type 5 F-550's from General Fire Apparatus. This specific model represents Engine 2204 working in Southern Washington. It has a 150ft booster reel which acts as the main "pump", 100GPM Aux Pump, 400Gal water tank, and 20Gal cell of A Class Foam. From my understanding Washington DNR does not operate Type 1's or 3's as any frontline apparatus, instead opting for Type 5's to cover the entire state, along with F-350 Handcrew carriers.
Furnished with a full interior including a cup holder, this rig has working doors! If you remove the back door first. It also has a detailed engine bay in the front! There is 3 compartments on each side with the majority of stuff going on in the back, 2 gas cans, 2 brick built drip torches and the aforementioned 150ft booster reel resides on the left side, with a tire below it all that can come off. On the right side is a 100GPM Aux pump with 2 small hose connections, below it is a extra container that has a singular wheel chock on it. On top is a cargo container with a big red duffel bag, along with a bucket and a extra can in tan.
If all goes well in the next few months, my future work truck! Thanks to my unnamed source in DNR for letting this project come to fruition!
